Retention Forces of Implant-Supported Single Crowns and Fixed Dental Prostheses after Cementation: An In-Vitro Study

نویسندگان

چکیده

The aim of this in vitro study was to investigate three different cements for their suitability provide semi-permanent cementation, and compare the retention forces implant-supported single crowns (SC) three-unit fixed dental prostheses (FDP) luted with these cements. Twenty-four methacrylate models were supplied implants/abutments each simulate condition SCs/FDPs. Cobalt-chromium frameworks fabricated, sandblasted (Al2O3/50 µm/0.2 MPa) then cemented glass-ionomer (KTC), polycarboxylate (DUR) or self-adhesive resin cement (RXU). Specimens stored a saline-solution (NaCl/37 °C/24 h) subjected thermocycling. A universal testing machine pull-off device used remove copings. multi-factor ANOVA showed that force differed significantly among all SCs after NaCl storage (p < 0.05). Mean (in Newtons) (SCs/FDPs): KTC 170/352, DUR 409/406, RXU 265/426, thermocycling 156/262, 306/380, 494/508. FDPs higher values comparison SCs. For SCs, artificial aging resulted significant increase RXU, whereas decreased. Glass ionomer can be as both FDPs. Polycarboxylate is considered one year aging.

In Vitro Fit and Cementation Resistance of Provisional Crowns for Single Implant-Supported Restorations.

This study aimed to verify marginal fit and the effect of cement film thickness standardization on retention of provisional crowns made with prefabricated acrylic cylinders on abutments, using two temporary luting agents subjected or not to mechanical cycling. Provisional crowns were made from bis-acryl (Luxatemp Fluorescence) or methyl methacrylate (Duralay) resins on acrylic cylinders and mar...

Meta-analysis of Failure and Survival Rate of Implant-supported Single Crowns, Fixed Partial Denture, and Implant Tooth-supported Prostheses

BACKGROUND Dental implants have become the most viable option for rehabilitation. Although, many studies report the success of these reconstructions using implants, a cumulative data about the various studies and the failure rate still remain unaddressed. Therefore, the purpose of this systematic review was to analyze these data and to derive the cumulative survival rate of different implant-su...

PURPOSE To assess and compare the outcomes and economic complication burden of three-unit tooth-supported fixed dental prostheses (TFDPs) and implant-supported single crowns (ISCs) provided to a sequential cohort in a specialist prosthodontic practice over a 15-year period. MATERIALS AND METHODS Sequential patients requiring replacement of a single missing tooth between 1996 and 2010 with a m...

Comparison of survival and complication rates of tooth-supported fixed dental prostheses (FDPs) and implant-supported FDPs and single crowns (SCs).

OBJECTIVES The objective of this systematic review was to assess and compare the 5- and 10-year survival of different types of tooth-supported and implant-supported fixed dental prosthesis (FDPs) and single crowns (SCs) and to describe the incidence of biological and technical complications. METHODS Three electronic searches complemented by manual searching were conducted to identify prospect...
